School&Trees est un projet environnemental et humanitaire dont l'objectif est d'aider une école d'Ouganda en difficulté. En échange de la plantation d'arbres par l'école et la communauté, et grâce à vos dons, School&Trees fournit l'aide financière pour des projets tel qu'améliorer l'accès à l'eau (problème critique) et financer les fournitures nécessaires aux enfants.

Il était une fois l'histoire d'une petite école située au coeur de l'Afrique, dans ce magnifique pays qu'est l'Ouganda.

La Sainte Mary's Junior School a été créée en 2015 par Mr Byamutima et sa famille dans le village de Kinyateke-Kahokya (Kasese district), situé dans l'ouest de l'Ouganda. Kahokya est un des villages sous-développés qui bordent le Queen Elizabeth National Game Park. Il a crée cette école pour lutter contre la très forte descolarisation et les mariages précoces des jeunes filles (12 ans...)

Deux amoureux en voyage passant par là tombèrent sous le charme de cette petite communauté. Ils furent particulièrement admiratifs de l'énorme énergie de l'équipe pédagogique face aux challenges qu'ils avaient décidé de relever. Leur principal obstacle : l'argent.



Aujourd'hui, 250 élèves bénéficient de cette école. Cependant encore beaucoup d'enfants issus de familles très pauvres n'ont pas les moyens d'y aller, car une année coûte 18€. Et sans école, pas de meilleur avenir. 

Une petite pépinière a été créée par l'école pour répondre à des objectifs pédagogiques et pallier à des besoins en bois et en fruits. 

Nous avons vu dans la promotion de la plantation d'arbre, un véritable moyen de leur apporter des revenus étant donné leur manque cruel de moyen. Nous avons ainsi sponsorisé les 5000 premiers arbres qui sont maintenant en terre et avons décidé que ce projet était juste formaidable et avons décidé de vous impliquer;-)!

Nous échangeons beaucoup avec eux par whatsapp et nous avons pluisuers fois par semaines les photos et avancés. La pépinière est en train de grossir et notre objectif, avec votre aide, est d'aller beaucoup plus loin et arriver à 10000 arbres par mois.

Plusieurs espèces d'arbres sont plantées et répondent à un véritable besoin pour la communauté : accacia et musizi pour le bois, et papaye, jack fruit, avocat... pour manger. Sans ces futurs arbres, la communauté ira comme aujourd'hui chercher le bois de plus en plus loin aggravant la déforestation et ses conséquences.

Comment ça marche

En donnant de l'argent, l'école et la communauté s'engagent à planter des arbres pour vous. Un arbre en croissance absorbant au minimum 10kg CO2/an, ce projet te permet de compenser ton empreinte carbone en réalisant une belle action sociale !

School&Trees est un bon moyen de compenser votre empreinte carbone passée (depuis que vous êtes nés=10 tonnes/an environ...). A 30 ans, vous êtes responsable de 300 T environ, qui sont la cause du dérèglement climatique...

Pour 10€ c'est 100 arbres pour ta pomme et 10T CO2 absorbés!

100% de l'argent collecté est utilisé par l'école.

Quand tu auras compensé tout ça et planté 5000 arbres, tu pourras dire que tu as vraiment fait ta part du colibri pour lutter contre le réchauffement climatique ! 

Plus de 95% de l'argent collecté arrivera à l'école et aidera directement les enfants car il n'y a aucun intermédiaire et toute l'aide au projet est bénévole ;-) - les pertes sont les frais de transferts, frais de changes...

Comment va être utilisé l'argent

LA priorité est actuellement l'accès à l'eau. Tous les jours, une vingtaine d'élèves doit marcher 7km et faire la queue pour remplir des bidons pour les 800L de besoins quotidiens pour l'école (hygiène, cuisson, hydratation). Faire une pépinière nécessite aussi une quantité d'eau estimée à 300L pour les futurs 10000 arbres...
L'accès à l'eau est donc la priorité sachant également que les réserves du puits sont limitées et que toute la communauté puise dedans... La meilleure idée en terme de coût et de durabilité est de récupérer toutes les eaux de pluies car il y a de grands toits sur l'école. Et même s'il peut y avoir de nombreux jours sans pluie, quand il pleut, il pleut beaucoup !



UP-DATE: Dès que nous avons dépassé les 1300€ sur la cagnotte, nous avons avancé l'argent à l'équipe sans fermer la cagnotte afin de réaliser le projet qui a été finalisé au 15/10. En quelques jours, la cuve de 10m3 était remplie et l'eau coule à flot pour la plus grande joie des enfants!

Nous sommes en train de regarder l'utilité d'une deuxième unité pour les mois qui viennent.

Les autres projets seront ensuite des aides aux fournitures, les repas, et sponsoriser les élèves qui ne peuvent pas/plus payer l'école. La transparence est totale sur les dépenses et communiquée sur FB et bientôt notre site internet.

Ne vous inquiétez pas d'être trop généreux, le projet futur sera même d'aller jusqu'à la création d'un collège, car beaucoup d'enfants arrêtent après le primaire...

Shool&Trees is an environmental and humanitarian project that aims to help a school in difficulty in Uganda. Once upon a time, a small school located in the heart of Africa, in this beautiful country that is Uganda.

The Sainte Mary's Junior School was established in 2015 by Mr Byamutima and his family in the village of Kinyateke-Kahokya (Kasese District), located in western Uganda. Kahokya is one of the underdeveloped villages bordering the Queen Elizabeth National Game Park.

Two lovers traveling through there fell under the spell of this small community. They were particularly appreciative of the enormous energy of the teaching team faced with the challenges they had decided to take up : to fight against the school drop-out and its consequences. Their main obstacle : money.


Today, 250 students benefit from this school. However still many children from very poor families can not afford to go because a year costs 18 €. And without school, no better future.

A small nursery was created by the school to meet educational objectives and to meet needs in wood and fruit.

We have seen in the promotion of tree planting, a real way to bring them income because of their cruel lack of means. We have sponsored the first 5000 trees that are being prepared. We exchange a lot with them on this project. The nursery is getting bigger but our goal, with your help, is to go much further and get to 10,000 trees a month.

Note that 5 species of trees are planted and meet a real need for the community: accacia and musizi for wood, and papaya, jack fruit and avocado to eat. Without these future trees, the community will go as today to search for wood further and further aggravating deforestation and its consequences.

How it works

By donating money, the school and the community are committed to planting trees for you. A growing tree absorbing at least 10kg CO2 / year, this project allows you to offset your carbon footprint by doing a great social action !

School & Trees is a good way to offset your past carbon footprint (since you were born = 10 tons / year ...). At 30, you are responsible for about 300 T, which is the cause of climate change ...

For 10 € it's 100 trees for your apple and 10T CO2 absorbed!

100% of the money collected is used by the school.

When you have compensated for all this and planted 5000 trees, you will be able to say that you have really done your share of the hummingbird to fight against global warming!

How will be used the money

THE priority is currently access to water. Every day, twenty students have to walk 6km and queue to fill cans for the 800L of daily needs for school (hygiene, cooking, hydration). To make a nursery also requires a quantity of water estimated at 300L for the future 10000 trees ...
Access to water is therefore the priority as well as the well's reserves are limited and the whole community draws in ... The best idea in terms of cost and sustainability is to recover all the rainwater because There are big roofs on the school. UP-DATE: As soon as we have exceeded the 1300 € on the pot, we advanced the money to the team without closing the pot to carry out the project which was finalized 15/10. In a few days, the tank of 10m3 was filled and the water flows freely to the delight of the children!

We are looking at the utility of a second unit for the coming months.

Other projects will then be help with supplies, meals, and sponsoring students who can not / no longer pay for school. Transparency is total on the expenses and communicated on FB and soon our Internet site.
