Initiative for Practices and Visions of Radical Care, fondée par Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez et Elena Sorokina, est née en région parisienne lors du premier confinement lié à l’épidémie de COVID-19. Johanna Fayau et simona dvorák les ont ensuite rejoint et depuis maintenant 3 ans, nous y pratiquons ensemble la solidarité et la mutualisation comme formes de curation dans un écosystème de curateur.ice.s, d'artistes, de demandeurs d'asile, de psychologues, de thérapeutes horticoles et de chercheur·euse·x, entre autres, vivant en Ile de France. 

Depuis ses origines, l'initiative se fonde sur l'intersectionnalité et la relation de soin, de bienveillance, et d'attention, en particulier dans les situations où les institutions se désengagent, échouent ou négligent, notamment dans les crises militaires ou humanitaires qui nécessitent une réponse urgente impliquant également la sphère culturelle.

Aujourd'hui, dans le climat déshumanisant et effrayant du conflit israélo-palestinien, l'Initiative for Practices and Visions of Radical Care et La maison de l'ours ont organisé une assemblée exceptionnelle et solidaire, à l'occasion du festival Palestine cinéma day à Paris le 2 novembre. Nous répondions ainsi à l'appel de l'association Aflamuna (plateforme de soutien au cinéma arabe depuis 1999) et Palestine Film Lab, qui ont réuni l'ensemble des acteur.ice.s de la société civile et des organisations autour d'une action symbolique pour saluer la 10e édition de ce festival annuel, qui se tient habituellement en octobre dans plusieurs villes de Cisjordanie et de la bande de Gaza.

Suite à cette assemblée exceptionnelle et solidaire, nous avons collectivement discuté de l'importance d'une action urgente et concrete, d'un soutien financier aux artistes et intellectuel.le.s palestinien.ne.s dans les jours à venir. 

Nous lançons donc un fonds pour soutenir les artistes de toutes disciplines et leurs familles vivant actuellement sous le siège israélien à Gaza. Ce fonds sera distribué aux artistes directement avec l'aide des artistes et intellectuel.le.s palestinien.ne.s que les membres de l'Initiative connaissent bien. Nous pourrons les aider aussi à accéder aux programmes des résidences en France ou ailleurs.

Initiative for Practices and Visions of Radical Care, founded by Nataša Petrešin-Bachelez and Elena Sorokina, was born in the Paris region during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 epidemic. Johanna Fayau and simona dvorák then joined them, and for 3 years now we've been practicing solidarity and sharing as forms of curation in an ecosystem of curators, artists, asylum seekers, psychologists, horticultural therapists and researchers, among others, living in the Ile de France region. 

Since its origins, the initiative has been based on intersectionality and the relationship of care, kindness and attention, particularly in situations where institutions disengage, fail or neglect, notably in military or humanitarian crises that require an urgent response also involving the cultural sphere.

Today, in the dehumanizing and frightening climate of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Initiative for Practices and Visions of Radical Care and La maison de l'ours have organized an exceptional assembly, in solidarity with the Palestine cinéma day festival in Paris on November 2. We responded to the call from the Aflamuna association (a platform for support for Arab cinema since 1999) and the Palestine Film Lab, who brought together the civil society organizations for a symbolic action to support the 10th edition of this annual festival, usually held in October in several towns in Cisjordanie and Gaza.

Following this exceptional gathering of solidarity, we collectively discussed the importance of urgent and concrete action, of financial support for Palestinian artists and intellectuals in the days to come. 

We are therefore launching a fund to support artists of all disciplines and their families currently living under Israeli siege in Gaza. This fund will be distributed directly to the artists, with the help of Palestinian artists and intellectuals whom the members of the Initiative know well. We can also help them access residency programs in France and elsewhere.
