Construction of a mosque and classrooms

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Salāmou aleykoum wa rahmatoullahi wa barakātouh.

I am a brother from France and I live in Senegal. In my neighborhood there is no mosque and people pray at home. I then had the idea to build a mosque. Alhamdulillah, I acquired a plot of land right next to my home, large enough to build a mosque. I then actively looked for trustworthy and competent people on site who could support me for this noble project, natives of the country and knowledgeable in the field of construction.

Allah made it easy for me and I found Senegalese Muslim brothers from my neighborhood who want to do good, who know many very useful things and have many contacts here. They are also very available. I regularly check the progress of the work (practically every day). May Allah reward us all with good!

Regarding the work itself, we changed contractor and BY THE GRACE OF ALLAH, WE HAVE STARTED THE WORK. We are now working with the company BANDIA BTP. We chose them for their experience in construction (they have already built several buildings) and because we know them well. It is preferable to hire competent and trustworthy people rather than strangers. And they do good, clean and careful work — may Allah accept from them and from us. The new estimate amounts to €70,000 or €75,000 instead of the €90,000 from the previous company, but we will have to wait until the building is practically finished for the final estimate regarding the finishes. Today, the well is completed by the Grace of Allah and water is available. The raw materials for construction have arrived by truck and the holes for the foundations have been dug.

May Allah accept from us and make this work devoted to Him Alone and without associate.

And let us remember the immense reward for the one who participates in the construction of a mosque. The Messenger of Allah — may Allah bless him and grant him peace — said:

« مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا يُذْكَرُ اللَّهُ فِيهِ بَنَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ. »

(Approximate translation):

“Whoever builds a mosque in which the Name of Allah is mentioned, Allah — Mighty and Majestic — will build for him a house in Paradise.”
