We, the AEDs of Lycée Raymond Naves, will be on strike from Monday, January 26 to Friday, January 30. A large majority of us will mobilize for one or more days during the week.
We denounce the 2026 national budget pushed through by Article 49.3, which provides for brutal budget cuts. For education, 4,000 teaching positions and 3,000 education assistant positions are being cut, i.e. about 6% of the national AED workforce. While the state keeps finding more money for the police and the military, education is facing ever greater budget cuts.
At our school we denounce the 10% increase in meal prices in the cafeteria. We also denounce a local reduction in AED staffing: while three of our colleagues will soon take parental leave, the school plans to replace only some of the positions, which will increase our workload.
In short: our working conditions are threatened with deterioration, which could impact students and teachers, while our low wages increasingly prevent us from living decently. Yet we are essential to the proper functioning of schools.
We demand:
• The complete halt to cuts to teaching and AED positions and the withdrawal of the 2026 budget.
• Free school meals in the canteen
• Maintenance of AED staffing levels during parental leave
We call on teachers, AED, AESH, staff of our school and beyond to stand in solidarity with this strike and to mobilize as well. We also call on the unions to implement a collective response at the national level to the 2026 budget pushed through by force.
