Our first project is to renovate the Bethel orphanage, with 37 children. This includes an orphaned mother and her baby. The children’s living conditions are not conducive to their development: they sleep in rooms of between 3 and 10 people on the floor on mats or mattresses in very poor condition.
They have nowhere to store their belongings; they have one room and everything is just placed and they sleep on the floor.
Without ventilation or mosquito nets, cramped, on the floor sometimes nine children.
Therefore, thanks to your contribution we would like to renovate their room with paint, bunk beds, wardrobes, etc.
This project is very important to our association. Despite everything, the children manage to be joyful and imagine a future in their lives; we really want to help them with their identity building, life... With 3000 euros we can already provide them with beds and mattresses.
Secondly, we are undertaking the construction of wells in remote villages where drinking water is not accessible unless walking several kilometers under the sun. Construction in remote villages is tough and expensive for them, which is why they have not yet been able to access it.
Finally, we will organize waste collection with the help of the population in the neighborhoods. In Togo, there are no trash bins in the streets so waste accumulates. Residents must pay garbage collectors to pick up the waste. Otherwise it is left in the street. Therefore, we would like to organize this work and we need equipment and something to thank the residents for their help.
A worker in Togo (who does not have the same comfort conditions as an employee in France; comfort at work does not exist here. People work in very harsh conditions for very little.)
The salary of an average Togolese is about 30,000 CFA francs, which is roughly 45 €. It is impossible to live in decent conditions with 45 €, especially for families with children.
So today, if you want to participate in the long term with a humanitarian association, with concrete projects that will help the population over time, you can contribute to the fund; it is available to you indefinitely. You can make one-off or monthly donations.
