Wishing to develop and sustain its academic training activities, which it has been carrying out for 25 years, the ALMIZAN association (ALMIZAN Islamic Academy of Brussels, formerly called "Alkhayria Belgica") is actively seeking financial support to undertake major repair work necessary for the operation of its premises. We note that the ALMIZAN association does not receive any Belgian or foreign subsidies. It subsists thanks to the proceeds of its services and the generosity of its members and supporters.
The urgent intervention for which we are asking you consists of replacing the entire roof covering an area of 2000 m², a roof that is unfortunately in a dilapidated state and no longer guarantees the required watertightness, thus causing considerable damage.
Indeed, the multiple water infiltrations have affected not only our walls but also those of our neighbors. Faced with this ongoing degradation, patching interventions were carried out, but these remain superficial and temporary and cannot permanently solve the problem.
Several elements prompt us to undertake comprehensive and large-scale works: the advanced deterioration of the roof components such as cornices and rainwater drainage pipes requiring their replacement, the need to remove asbestos sheets in accordance with the rules of the Brussels-Capital Region, and finally the reduction of heat loss by insulating the roof with sandwich panels guaranteeing a performance of R ≥ 4 m² K/W.
These works are estimated at 300,000 euros. The association is able to finance one third of the works from its own funds. We therefore call on your generosity to help us raise the remaining two thirds, i.e. 200,000 euros.
Help us pursue this noble project in accordance with our social purpose: to offer and develop academic activities for children and adults that provide secure and informed access to Islamic culture and sciences, free from any ideology.
