Anas is currently being held in a detention center for undocumented migrants in Brussels, Belgium. He faces possible deportation to Morocco, where he could be arrested and potentially tortured because of his political commitment to democracy.
The existence of these detention centers perpetuates a system of oppression against people deprived of their fundamental rights because of their place of birth. Courageous voices, like that of Anas Hmam, are imprisoned and silenced in a system that criminalizes undocumented migrants instead of protecting them.
✊ We have the power to make visible what has been ignored. We have the duty to defend those who can no longer defend themselves.
The aim of this campaign is to support people in detention centers to meet their needs: food, SIM cards, phone plans, etc.
