We are 21 strikers and were on strike from Tuesday 15 October 2024 until Wednesday 20 November 2025, i.e. one month and 5 consecutive days of strike; afterwards our supervisors stopped giving us work and plan to dismiss us for gross misconduct for refusing relocation around 20 December — what a nice Christmas gift after years of doing good work!
Following the termination of the contract between Amazon and our site, ID Logistics then notified us late (only one month beforehand) that we would all be transferred to Bollène, 135km from Marseille, or dismissed for gross misconduct, which represents 944€ in travel expenses per month, while also removing our better-paid Sundays as well as our night hours.
Indeed, we have a mobility clause in our employment contract, but refusal of extreme relocation does not justify gross misconduct, not to mention that this site did not exist when the contract was signed and belonged to another company (therefore another employer) and would require a new employment contract, while we have signed nothing!
We are also under a great deal of pressure from management, which threatens, among other things, to take away our bonuses if we go on strike.
Among our mobilization are young people, mothers and fathers of large families usually paid the SMIC and living in the northern districts of Marseile, people caring for others who need help, as well as sick people who must receive treatment in Marseille (the best national treatments for this type of illness).
Since we are not paid during this strike period but still have expenses, costs and bills, these are the reasons why we are counting heavily on your participation and generosity, which will help us remain mobilized and continue to defend our rights to a deserved severance thanks to our seniority against a company that neglects the human side.
Today we are fighting for workers' rights, but tomorrow it could happen to any one of you.
