Hello everyone
I don't usually do this but I'm reaching out to you today with an urgent request. My assistance dog, who is a real pillar in my life, is going through a very difficult time.
I am autistic, chronically ill, and use a wheelchair daily. Without her I couldn't leave my home, and I face crises that can be really dangerous for me. Thanks to her presence and help, I regained an autonomy I thought I would never have access to. She accompanies me everywhere and gives me the strength to overcome everyday challenges.
However, a few days ago everything changed in a matter of minutes. She lost the use of the rear part of her body due to a spinal cord problem. She can no longer walk and has become incontinent. This is an extremely difficult time for both of us and for my partner, who is also disabled.
For her to recover her autonomy, she needs intensive rehabilitation, which costs 400 € per week excluding transport (if someone in Rennes has a car and can transport her that would also help us enormously). I am unable to fund this care on my own, and the idea of abandoning her now that she needs me is simply unbearable. She has been helping me for the 5 years she has been by my side; it's my turn to give back.
