I am AMORI Mohammed, a Moroccan national. My life was really simple. Because I am nearsighted and wear glasses, I was seeing my ophthalmologist to monitor the condition of my eyes. In 2015 I went for my annual check-up; during the check-up the doctor told me there was a problem with my eyes: my right eye experienced a strong regression in vision, whereas the left eye completely lost interaction with the outside world (total loss of sight).

My ophthalmologist asked me to have a scan of my eyes and my head. After analyzing the scan results, he told me I had to consult a neurologist because there was something strange in my brain.

I had an MRI and discovered that I have a tumor behind the eyes that rendered me blind due to pressure on the veins of the left eye.

After a normal life, surrounded by my small family and without any devices attached to my body, everything was turned upside down.

In February 2015, I underwent a first operation at the base of the nose to take a sample of the tumor for further analysis.

In June 2015, I had another MRI and found that the tumor had become larger and larger. The second operation was in June 2015 to remove 90% of the tumor.

After 6 months, I had a follow-up brain MRI; I was shocked by the result: the tumor had become large again and after three MRIs, the doctors noticed the tumor kept growing and I cannot have further operations because there are no means in Morocco for another operation to succeed.

After 3 years of suffering I lost the sight in my left eye and 40% of the sight in my right eye. I contacted an association that helped me find a hospital in France to perform the operation with more advanced and less risky equipment so that I could regain my vision; they sent me the estimate.

Six months after the operation, I repeated the MRI but I was shocked by the result: the tumor had become large again, and after the third MRI the doctors noticed the tumor kept growing and my condition began to deteriorate again. My problem is that in Morocco there is no equipment for my case and the more it is delayed the worse my condition and my vision become.

After 3 years of suffering I completely lost vision in my left eye and have 40% in the right eye. I contacted an association that helped me find a hospital in France that has more advanced equipment and a higher success rate so I can recover my vision and my normal life.
