Hello,
My name is Inès. Today I'm launching this fundraiser to help Alia in her progress toward independence.
I met Alia and her mother Lilia on Instagram, and after a few exchanges we discovered we live in the same city — fate works in mysterious ways. From that a true friendship was born.
Alia is a four-year-old girl full of joy who cannot walk or stand on her own. She has a genetic disease, RYR1 myopathy 🧬
Since her birth, her mother Lilia stopped working to devote all her time to her daughter. She is doing everything possible to support Alia in her progress toward independence 👣
Alongside school, Alia goes several times a week to the physiotherapist, the psychomotor therapist, and the speech therapist.
Added to this are sessions, installations and equipment for better comfort, greater autonomy but also to prevent orthopedic and joint deformities.
They regularly go to Spain for intensive neuro-motor rehabilitation to gain muscle strength, improve balance, redistribute weight across her body and improve her ability to stand upright 🦾
Her mother is fighting this battle alone and she created the association A Jolis Pas in 2021 to share her experience and raise awareness about disability. 🌈 💫
Their story moved me deeply, because having myself had a car accident, I understand the efforts and challenges they face.
I have always wondered how I could contribute on my own scale. From that came the idea of running the Paris 20 km with Alia 🏃🏻♀️
If we are running today it is to raise awareness about her genetic disease, myopathy, and to raise funds to finance these therapies.
Whatever the amount, everyone can contribute to this fundraiser.
