We never imagined we would have to write these words.
Our association has been devastated by a fire 🔥
The premises burned.
The truck burned.
The Fenwick burned.
The offices burned.
The landscaped garden burned.
The food stock burned.
The outreach equipment burned.
Everything was destroyed. Years of work and investment went up in smoke.
But the most painful thing is not only what we lost.
It is thinking of all the people we may no longer be able to help.
Our association supports daily homeless people, women who are victims of domestic violence, students in difficulty, undocumented people and refugees arriving in our area.
We carry out street outreach.
We distribute food parcels.
We cook and distribute meals.
We assist people with administrative procedures.
We support refugees with school, hospital and other formalities.
We organize snacks, barbecues, parties and meals to bring a little comfort, dignity and human connection.
All of this was made possible thanks to our premises and our equipment.
Today, we have nothing left.
And unfortunately, no reimbursement will be possible before at least 8 to 12 months.
And even when compensation arrives, it will unfortunately not cover everything we invested and everything we lost.
We are therefore facing an extremely difficult situation and we will not be able to rebuild alone.
❤️ TODAY, WE ARE LAUNCHING AN APPEAL FOR DONATIONS.
We need you so that, little by little, we can rebuild our working tools and resume our activities as soon as possible.
The courtyard and the premises have not yet been cleared. There are still consequences of the fire on site.
We especially do not want your generosity to become a burden.
Even 5 €, 10 €, 20 € or 50 €, according to your means, can make a difference.
And if you cannot give, just share this appeal.
Never underestimate the power of a share ❤️
