Historical context : Founded on 10 February 1995, the Association Musulmane Mauricienne de l'Océan Indien (AMMOI) acquired a plot of land with existing buildings in order to create a mosque. Over the years, the association undertook fitting-out and renovation works on the premises, but the space gradually became insufficient to accommodate all the worshippers from the neighbourhood and surrounding areas. With this in mind, an ambitious construction project was launched, symbolized by the laying of the foundation stone on 20 February 2020. Today, after having launched two online fundraising campaigns in 2019, we are once again calling on your generosity to continue this beautiful initiative. Every advance so far has been made possible thanks to the valuable contributions of our donors, to whom we extend our sincere thanks. Every euro collected has been directly invested in the ongoing works. Four years after the start of its construction, the building rising before us, both inside and out, has been erected at a remarkable pace!
But we still need YOU!
With the generosity and solidarity that light our hearts, we enthusiastically launch Phase 2 of our mosque construction project in La Courneuve (93 – Seine‑Saint‑Denis).
After successfully completing Phase 1 thanks to you, which included the basement and the ground floor, we still need to construct the first and second floors of Phase 2.
Thanks to your precious support, we were able to reach this crucial milestone. Today, we once again ask for your help to continue our noble mission.
We insist on this Phase 2 of our new mosque because it encompasses an important step: the construction of the Madrassah for our children, a place of learning and spirituality essential to our community.
The transmission of Islamic knowledge to children is a fundamental priority for generations to come, and with your help we must bequeath this heritage to them, of which you will be the beneficiaries in this life and in the Hereafter!
But without your help, nothing will be possible…
Please note that to finalise all the construction and fitting-out works of this project, we still need to raise nearly €800,000. However, we are launching a first tranche of fundraising of €330,000 right here.
We must act together without delay to begin the Madrassah works, thereby ensuring optimal reception conditions for the children thanks to your invaluable support.
