The association Aytel for Development, Creativity and Cultural Animation in Figuig (Morocco) is organizing the 5th edition of the "Ulawen Idfan" campaign (Warm Hearts). This edition is particularly moving as it pays tribute to the late president, Abdelkader El Kouche (aka Kadastrophe), founder of this initiative. It also marks the continuation of his benevolent work.
"Ulawen Idfan" is an annual campaign held at the start of winter in support of the nomadic populations around Figuig. It is structured around two main actions:
1. Distribution of warm clothing to schoolchildren
The operation aims to provide coats, underwear, gloves and hats to children to help them face the harsh Saharan winter. Some children must walk several kilometers to reach school, exposed to difficult weather conditions. In addition to clothing, moisturizing creams are supplied to schools to protect their fragile skin.
The selection of clothing and the taking of students' sizes are carried out in close coordination with the teachers of the schools concerned.
2. Collection and distribution of clothing for nomadic populations
Used clothing is collected, sorted, and distributed to the nomads of the region, adults and children alike, to improve their daily lives often marked by precariousness. These populations live in tents with rudimentary comfort, which makes the aid all the more crucial.
