Following an SOS posted on social networks for a dog whose owners were leaving him to starve, we went to the location and took charge of Jayron, a category‑1 dog in a state of extreme cachexia.
Seen the same day by our veterinarians, he wouldn’t have lasted much longer. Multiple pressure sores on his body, severely dehydrated (+++), conjunctivitis and bilateral ocular dryness — he will need specific food to regain strength (highly digestible veterinary kibble + meat at each meal, which will have to be divided into several meals throughout the day), eye drops and antibiotics. Once he has regained 5 kg (he now weighs only 18 kg whereas at 1 year old he weighed 26.6 kg) we will have his teeth scaled, neuter him at the same time and then bring his vaccinations up to date (not vaccinated since 2016).
If, like us, you are moved by the condition of this dog and wish to contribute to his forthcoming care, please know that all donations are welcome and that they will be tax‑deductible at 66%.
According to our statistics, a single share raises an average of 30 euros.
