**Call for donations for Poppy, a small female Shih Tzu aged 10–12 years, found wandering, unidentified and in poor condition, whom cani-seniors took in at the end of her pound holding period.
Seen by our veterinarians upon her release, here is the assessment of her general condition:
- Malassezia infection on the paws
- Bilateral keratoconjunctivitis
- Rotten teeth and heavy tartar buildup ++++, gingival hypertrophy
- Dental abscess that has just ruptured under the eye
- Granular bilateral mammary tumors
- Small umbilical hernia
- Polyps in the ears
- Blood work good, creatinine low because she is malnourished and muscle-wasted.
Poppy is on antibiotics for one week and anti-inflammatory medication for 4 days.
She will have a dental scaling (it's urgent) and be spayed next Friday, and we will then need, in a second step, to operate on her tumors.**
