At Chronodrive, a subsidiary of Auchan specializing in drive-through pickup, most of us are young precarious workers employed part-time. While our bosses are billionaires, most of our pay is at the SMIC, despite the recent Mandatory Annual Negotiations that could have allowed management to increase our wages. Management decided otherwise and keeps our wages at rock-bottom levels even though, faced with rising prices, our pay does not allow us to make ends meet with dignity! In addition, our work as order pickers is physical and very demanding, and we want that to be recognized!
That is why we are mobilizing through strike action to obtain a 7% increase for all employees! However, losing income is a huge barrier for those of us who are already precarious. We therefore need all possible financial solidarity to carry out our struggle against poverty wages! By giving even €5 or €10, you will help us a lot. This will make it possible to reimburse the most precarious among us.
This Saturday, June 25, our first day of mobilization was a real success! About fifty of us went on strike at the Chronodrive Basso Cambo store! While management tried to make us invisible by canceling the vast majority of orders and shifting the work onto the Sunday team, we decided to organize a surprise walkout the next day with more than a dozen colleagues to inform customers about our struggle.
During this first weekend of mobilization we received an enormous amount of solidarity! We want to thank everyone who has already contributed and who will contribute to our strike fund, all the supporters who were present during our first mobilization for wages at the Basso Cambo store, and the customers who encouraged us to continue the movement!
Determined to go all the way and force pay increases from our billionaire bosses, we launched a national call for people to join us at all Chronodrive stores.
To be able to expand the movement and allow us to mobilize, we need your financial solidarity. This will compensate striking workers for lost wages during the action so that our demands do not leave us more precarious than we already are.
