Solidarity for Loïc

Hello,

I would like to tell you about my son, Loïc, 25 years old.

Loïc was a sporty and very sociable teenager. I use the word “was” because illness has changed everything.

At the age of 16, he began to suffer from high blood pressure, digestive problems, hyperhidrosis, and “travelling” pains.

Over time, the pains became more and more frequent, violent and unbearable.

He is unable to do sports as before, and cannot stand for very long.

Pain also brings enormous social loneliness. “Friends” who don’t understand and push him out of their lives. Relatives who tell us, the parents, that we coddle him too much, that he must push himself, that he is a hypochondriac, that it’s all in his head.

We have seen many doctors. At best they were helpless, at worst they were inhuman.

Doctors, physiotherapists, rheumatologists, posturologists, various examinations, and more original approaches such as hypnosis, kinesiology, magnetism, etc.

All this for nothing, except a huge financial expense and a discouragement that gradually and insidiously settles in.

Two years ago, he finally met the right person who made the correct diagnosis: Chronic Lyme disease.

Lyme, a disease still very little known and poorly understood, at least in Belgium.

We thought he would get better very quickly, but this disease is terribly complicated. Complicated to diagnose, complicated to treat. Every patient is different and the treatment does not always work. After almost two years, Loïc still isn’t better.

Psychologically he is at his limit.

It is difficult for him to envision a professional or personal future. It is difficult for those around him to carry him.

There would, however, be a solution: Phagotherapy.

Still experimental and little known (but showing very positive results for Lyme disease), it is only offered in the USA and the treatment is expensive. One clinic has specialized in treating Lyme disease: “Biologix Center For Optimum Health” in Franklin, Tennessee.

10 908 euros for 2 weeks (minimum duration) of treatment and about 1500 euros for travel and accommodation. This does not include food and supplements to be purchased on site.

I know perfectly well that Loïc is not the only one who suffers and needs help.

I know that the amount needed is very large. I also know that small streams make big rivers.
