Because we need caregivers, because I cannot live on €445 per month, because I am not entitled to any support, because the situation is critical, I need help.



Single mother of a (wonderful) 16-year-old teen (with fragile health), this fund will help me finance my last 2 years of studies to become a nurse.



An essential… strained sector



On his manifesto, Emmanuel Macron committed to recruiting 50,000 nurses and nursing assistants in nursing homes; he reiterated this during his press conference on March 17, 2022. He promised _“better care thanks to the recruitment of 50,000 nurses and nursing assistants in nursing homes,”_ and has reaffirmed it in various speeches since his election (notably 09/18/2018 - 01/06/2023 – 04/17/2023…)



During his January 6, 2023 address he called for a nurse/patient ratio, which implies hiring 100,000 nurses by 2026.



He is increasing training places by 20% over 3 years; however, he admits that _“the problem is that many stop their training along the way – about 30%, while 10 to 15% fail.”_

More than 6 million French people and over 600,000 patients with chronic illnesses do not have a primary care physician and experience care disruption due to a lack of health professionals. The new Rist bill facilitates access to care by recognizing nurses’ skills and autonomy.




Me, Charlotte, a single mother over 35, I answer the call!




The Montpellier training center accepted my application. Everything is fine! Except…

Nursing studies are full-time, just as I had to study full-time to pass the entrance exam. If I were alone without a child, or in a couple with a husband covering the family’s needs, I could commit three full years, complete my transition, and respond to France’s needs.

Alone, it’s very difficult.

I had saved because I anticipated this situation. Sadly, frankly, despite my efforts I did not pass the exam the first year. Determined, I tried again and this time I succeeded!

However, with the current economic situation and inflation combined with unexpected events, my savings have melted away.

In addition to my small nest egg, last year I was receiving unemployment benefits (to be transparent, I describe all my resources and expenses in the appendix). By reapplying while working when possible and raising my daughter (and her expenses!), my rights ended.

I understand the end of my unemployment benefits since they are linked to my contributions. I also understand that nursing schools maintain high standards; that is what ensures quality care in France.

What I do not understand is this situation that sidelines a determined woman who passed the selection while France is in need!

Because before exposing myself like this and asking you for help — knowing it is not easy for you either — I knocked on every door and studied every option: being over 35 and registered with Pôle emploi, I am not entitled to any grant or aid.

Fortunately I live in Occitanie and the Region covers all my tuition costs! That’s an incredible opportunity! But how can I cover my expenses and those of my daughter during the two years required for my nurse training?

There is a structural problem, and this is what I propose to highlight for everyone’s health by supporting me.

- Nursing studies last three years. Unemployment benefits run for two years. No need to be a mathematician to see that it is not possible to meet the President’s call. The situation is even more complicated if, like me, you failed the entrance exam the first time.

- Is the solution to lower the level of nurses by lightening the coursework, or to provide means to the selected students who are in financial difficulty?

Because at the end of my studies, beyond my diploma, my patients will benefit from my strength as a woman who has lived, who gave birth to and raised her child, who has faced difficulties, and who never gave up. So many values that motivate people to hold on to life, to take care of themselves and their loved ones. So many values that embody the nobility of medicine!


With me, to prevent students #infirmieres+35 from being abandoned and instead to strengthen the ranks of caregivers, please help make this campaign a success. To help me, to make noise, to help other candidates over 35, and so that we never again experience situations like during the Covid crisis when we saw our caregivers exhausted.

to request help for a law-abiding citizen who wishes to join the ranks of caregivers and lend a hand to them and to humanitarian organizations.



To date, I have not obtained solutions from these various bodies. But I remain determined.

To complete my retraining and not stop now, I need a substantial boost of at least €25,000 and I would like to take you with me on this journey.


In this delicate context I wish to ask people near and far to contribute to help me financially for my remaining 2 years of study.

Repayment in 3 years, after obtaining the diploma, starting the job, and obtaining a bank loan that will allow me to repay you quickly.

Any donation or loan totaling more than €5,000 will be declared to the tax authorities on my side.

Any single loan over €5,000 will be the subject of a specific declaration on my part.

I am fully aware of the difficult context, inflation, everyone’s difficulties, and I am extremely grateful.

Who am I?

My name is Charlotte, I am 38 years old, single mother of a 16-year-old

- Assistance to struggling farmers through CEMs (large-scale ecological work projects)

A student doing her best to succeed in a world without money and with very few resources. I want to become a nurse to help people in distress, in France and abroad through humanitarian missions.

What so many people may take for granted is not the case for everyone and everywhere. I want the chance to help my neighbor and to care for our elders.

I created this fund to have that chance. It starts small. A simple act of kindness, but it can ripple and create an ocean of prosperity in the world.

The first step is to cover my basic needs. That is where you can make the biggest difference; a donation or a loan could change my life.

I am convinced of human kindness and benevolence, and if you have an opportunity like this, however small, to make a change, you are wonderful. It is so rare to have the chance to affect so much change in a life.

Do not think an amount is too small. Honestly, €10 is a lot. You should not feel obliged to give more than that. I hope there are enough people who care about my cause so that with €10 each we easily reach the goal.

In France 637,000 nurses under 62 years old across all specialties and sectors combined (pediatric, anesthetist, operating room, public health manager, nurse manager, psychiatric nurse, private practice, hospital, laboratory, PMI, school, EHPAD, temporary work), i.e. 945 nurses per 100,000 inhabitants!

Salaried nurses in public hospitals stop working on average at 56, in private hospitals at 59 and private practitioners at 61. The average age is 41.5 years.

And if the collection is not fruitful?

If the funds raised are not sufficient to continue my studies, they will be redistributed, after consulting contributors, either to an association, to other students in distress, or according to one of your possible proposals.

And if the fund is very successful?

Any surplus not used or not needed will likewise be redistributed.
