After 26 days of hunger strike, after years of refusals, after so many closed doors, we have finally obtained a three-month récépissé with authorization to work.
I did not win this moment alone.
This is our victory.
The victory of a movement, of living solidarity, of a struggle that never stopped beating.

To all those who contributed to the fundraiser:
thank you.
Your gesture is not just a donation.
It is an act of resistance.
It is an act of love, of dignity, of fraternity.
Thanks to you, the tent held. Thanks to you, I was able to hold on. Thanks to you, the struggle continued night after night.

You funded much more than equipment or medical care, lawyer's fees;
you funded the possibility of existing, of standing up, of saying no to injustice, of not disappearing.

Every euro given became a blanket, a hot cup, a word, a presence.
Every support became strength in my weakened body.
Every donation became proof that solidarity is stronger than any administrative wall.

Today, we win a small victory — a simple appointment.
And yet, it is immense.
Because in this system, sometimes it takes a whole struggle to obtain a banal right.
Because a victory like this reminds us that we are not alone, that our lives matter, that we are right to fight.

**So from the bottom of my heart:
thank you for your solidarity, thank you for your trust, thank you for your humanity.**

The money collected is primarily dedicated to paying for the equipment needed for the encampment in front of the CNC, which requires a winter tent, very durable sleeping bags, blankets, etc...



ON HUNGER STRIKE FOR MY RESIDENCE PERMIT

My name is Nader Ayache, I am a student, a PhD candidate, a documentary filmmaker. I arrived in France from Tunisia in 2015 to continue my film studies. I have been in France for 10 years: I studied in France, I am doing my doctoral thesis in France, I made my films in France, I got married in France, my friends are in France…

I have been on hunger strike since the dawn of November 8 to obtain my right to stay, my right to live, to remain in France and to be free here.

In 2019 I received an Obligation to Leave French Territory (OQTF) as well as a Return Ban (IRTF). At that time I was starting to make a film as well as a thesis. Since then, my life has hung by a thread; I can no longer see my family, I cannot work, I live in constant fear of checks, I am homeless because I have no stable income, I am in a very precarious situation. I felt shame towards my family, a shame and a guilt that I did not understand, and a feeling of being rejected, of being undesirable. This OQTF is an obligation to leave my friends, my partner, my professional life as well as my private life.

Year after year, I used all legal means to regularize my situation; I wrote to the prefecture, I tried to prove the seriousness of my studies, my work as a filmmaker and my films. I filed an appeal before the prefecture, which refused my request, then before the court, which refused my request, then before the Versailles court, which refused my request. That last refusal is dated November 6, 2025.
I complied with the demands of the justice system and the prefecture in terms of rigor and patience for 6 years, in vain. During all these years, they didn't even open my file, allowing me to be put through what they call a "simplified procedure."

I had hope and trust that the French justice system and the prefecture would take into account the life I built here.

Today, I have lost that hope.

Enough is enough!

It is therefore to protest all these years of injustice, the queues in front of the prefecture, the degrading reception of foreigners, the refusals at the counter, the inhuman side of the prefecture, the continuous humiliation, the interminable waiting times, the bureaucracy, the OQTFs that are issued left and right, the criminalization of undocumented people that I went on hunger strike.

I draw inspiration from prisoners' hunger strikes because I am in an open-air prison.

This hunger strike is for me a way to show everyone a suffering that I have already been living for these 10 years of exile. A pain that until now was invisible.

Today, the next step is to challenge the decision of the Versailles court before the Council of State, which would require waiting at least another eighteen months. Eighteen months. Eighteen months of hardship, without being able to work, without a status, with the fear of police checks in my stomach, another eighteen months with the risk of going through difficult things like mourning my loved ones from a distance. Eighteen more months of my exile.

In parallel with this appeal, I am submitting a request for exceptional admission to stay (AES) for which I meet all the criteria. In case of refusal, an OQTF is systematically issued. An OQTF that would be even harsher than the previous one and that would mean three years without being able to make new administrative requests. It would force me into a second exile, a second uprooting. I am between a rock and a hard place.
