Acting Against Repression and Police Violence
Donating to help cover legal fees is already a way to take part in solidarity against police violence and repression, notably in demonstrations, in working-class neighborhoods, or against refugees... You can use this online fund to make a one-off or monthly donation. You can also send us a cheque or a direct bank transfer. NB: our solidarity fund is now hosted on another platform, accessible via this short link which we encourage you to share: http://kutt.it/stoprep (*).
The amount displayed represents money collected over several years and not the available funds.
This fund concerns cases whose political and collective defense is ensured by the Coordination against Repression and Police Violence Paris/IDF ("Coord antirép") thanks to agreements made with lawyers who have accepted our political principles.
----
LAWYER(S)...
The Paris legal group advises designating, if you are placed in police custody, the following lawyers — you just need to remember their exact name and their bar association. (There may be substitutions among them in case of unavailability.) This list may change depending on availability:
Paris Bar: Alice BECKER – Raphaël KEMPF – Servane MEYNIARD – Hanna Rajbenbach – Eliott SOURTY, Créteil (94): Coline BOUILLON, Bobigny (93): Camille VANNIER.
----
To give an idea of the costs incurred, according to the minimum rates of legal aid, between police custody, immediate appearance and the trial itself, count on €600 to €900 per defendant. Police custody represents €60 to €300 (€150 on average), and the same amount if it is extended by 24h; the immediate appearance hearing (even if the trial is postponed) €330, the postponement €250; and if a case is placed before an examining judge you must add at least €1500. This does not include proceedings before the courts of appeal.

NEW NUMBER: 07-52-95-71-11
In addition to welcoming and supporting the accused, the Paris legal group (or legal team) of Coord antirép has opened an emergency telephone line to link arrested demonstrators and their relatives.
----
Each month, various collectives organize initiatives to provide political and legal support to the accused and victims of police violence, during trials or rallies. To take part in the initiatives, follow https://paris-luttes.info/, the "répression" section on https://paris.demosphere.eu/, https://www.facebook.com/Coordination-contre-la-r%C3%A9pression-et-les-violences-polici%C3%A8res-Paris-IdF-1005169382915113/, or come to the Coordination meetings which are usually held every Tuesday at the Bourse du Travail de Paris (3 rue du Chateau d'Eau, Louise Michel room).
----
The aim of Coord antirép is to build a political defense collectively so that the issue of repression and police violence becomes everyone's concern. We relay and provide tools so that any person or group can organise their defense at their level. That is why the coordination does not intend to be the sole "legal team" in the Paris region. It is a mandate it took up following the end of the Defcol group in September 2016 in order to fight specialization and help pass on the knowledge, mandates and specific organisations this requires. For the same reasons, the coordination intends to carry out this mandate for a limited time before passing it on to others.
