Assalamu Alaykum my dear brothers, my dear sisters,

Hello everyone,

It is with a heavy heart but also full of hope that I relaunch our beautiful fundraiser for the benefit of Qur'ans in Braille for people who are blind.

Last year I wrote to you that we were living through a difficult time where a virus was able to paralyze the world and unfortunately took at least one person from among our circle.

One year later… How many of us are in pain and crying over the abrupt, tragic, horrible loss of a beloved person?? Many, alas…

Today I wish, more than in past years, and for all those dear to our hearts whom we have lost, that together we manage to bring a smile back to a person who is blind and DREAMS of being able to read, with the tips of their fingers, this book that was revealed to us like a miracle during this month of Ramadan.

It is our duty! And the little we can, alas, do…

This light, God gave it to us: We can read with our eyes. But here I also ask you to read this message with your HEART.

What was true last year is even more true this year: we can read this message, but are we certain we will be able to tomorrow? That we will not ourselves have to be put on a waiting list to be able to read the Quran? That in our graves we will not be waiting for "this sadaqah" from one of our loved ones?

This is our eighth Ramadan together working to help fund Qur'ans in Braille for people who are blind and we can be proud of it!!

As you know, a Qur'an in Braille is a set of 7 volumes weighing nearly 10 kilos (see photo).

It is not available for sale like our Qur'ans…

More than 2600 people are still on the waiting list and it is horrible for me to see that this number does not decrease, because requests keep increasing constantly…

Last year we succeeded together in raising 26009 euros via the fund and thus financed 136 Qur'ans. The goal this year, as you will have understood, is to exceed that amount… we must do better than last year...

A Quran in Braille in Arabic costs more than 300 euros

We agree that 300 euros for a Quran is a lot!

But it is with our donations that the association Institut Paris Églantine can give FREE OF CHARGE to the people who are blind on the waiting list.

It is unacceptable that so many people who are blind still do not have access... You must help them, I must help them, We must help them!!!

That is why every contribution will be important: 5, 10, 100, 300, 380 euros, it doesn't matter as long as you help them with your heart and according to your means...

I don't need to remind you that the Quran is OUR BOOK, it is the fundamental pillar of our beautiful religion and it must be painful for us to think that during this holy month of Ramadan, more than 2600 people on the waiting list will not be able to read it....

LET'S DO IT TOGETHER, for them, for us, for our sick, and for our departed...

For my part, having lost two loved ones this year, my aunt on August 2, 2020, the day of Eid, whose husband joined her a month later from grief… (may they rest in peace), this will also be for them..

Moreover, having myself been affected by this virus… I can say, thank God, that my spirit won the battle but I am still struggling a little with it..

Nevertheless, I realize the immense BLESSING that I am still here, to be able to live this Ramadan and relaunch this magnificent Challenge with you.

We are lucky to still be here! Let’s make the most of it!!
