Portugal Goal & Wheelchair Handball Season 2026-2027
Portugal is the next step. My project goes much further.
As I approach 52, sport is still a part of my life.
I started judo at 4, then canoe-kayak, cycling, road and track racing, hiking… Sport has always taught me to move forward, push my limits and never give up.
About 18 years ago, an accident profoundly changed my life and daily routine.
In September 2024, I discovered wheelchair handball with Lyon Métropole Handfauteuil.
And I didn’t just discover a sport.
I discovered a team, a collective and a true family.
A team where everyone arrives with their story, differences, strengths and challenges, but where no one is judged. A team built on cohesion, mutual support, respect, tolerance and lots of laughter.
Wheelchair handball allowed me to regain a taste for competition, rebuild confidence, improve, gain autonomy and, above all, find a place within a team.
🇵🇹 A first time in Portugal
From 16 to 18 October 2026, I will participate with my club in the:
PORTIMÃO INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT
Andebol Adaptado – ACR4
It will be my first time in Portugal.
We will face notably three Portuguese teams, including players who are Portuguese internationals recently awarded bronze at the Wheelchair Handball World Championships in Spain.
For me, it will be a new sporting and human experience: discover, share, meet other players, face different styles of play and continue to progress.
But Portugal is only the first step.
🏆 My 2026-2027 season
This season, I want to keep progressing technically, improve my wheelchair handball skills, gain autonomy and contribute even more to my team.
With Lyon Métropole Handfauteuil, we will take part in the French Wheelchair Handball 4-a-side Cup, the French Wheelchair Handball 6-a-side Championships, as well as various tournaments and matches.
I am also involved as a volunteer in the life of the club: communication, photography, social media, events and awareness-raising activities about sport and disability in schools, institutions and companies.
And in the longer term, I have another goal: to be able to acquire my own sports wheelchair, adapted to my practice and needs. A project of around 8 000 €, which I want to build gradually.

Because behind this fundraiser, there is not just a trip to Portugal.
There is a sporting project, a desire to move forward, to improve, to share and to keep building something despite the obstacles.
I am not going just to play.
I am going to discover, share, push myself… and keep moving forward.**
