The strikers of Clinique du Parc, on rue Bellamy in Nantes, are not giving up, with already 21 days on strike since June to demand a pay increase.
Indeed, after 6 days of strike between June 16 and September 4, the employees decided for the first time to organize an open-ended strike. The employees have therefore now been on strike for 15 consecutive days (strike started on September 17).
Clinique du Parc is a small facility with barely 50 employees, specialized in psychiatry. It was bought a few years ago by the large private group of Australian origin, Ramsay.
Working conditions keep deteriorating there. No replacement for colleagues on sick leave, understaffing, multi-role employees, lack of training... all that for very low wages.
The strikers are demanding, first and foremost, a pay increase. Wages have not been raised for years and are particularly low: 1130 euros net/month for a nursing assistant with 5 years' seniority and one on-call weekend per month, 1500 euros net/month for a nurse with 15 years' seniority and one on-call weekend per month as well.
And yet money is not lacking at Ramsay France with a turnover of 3.4 billion euros, up 52% year-on-year!
This wealth would not exist without the work of the employees and yet, as everywhere, it is the shareholders who are being stuffed!
The stand-off continues thanks to the determination of the strikers who multiply strike days to maintain the pressure. They need financial support, because wages are low and each day on strike significantly reduces the pay received at the end of the month. There is no small contribution, every gesture counts and warmly shows your solidarity with the strikers!
