Help with the realization of the Sabay Festival - Khmer New Year at the Grande Pagode de Vincennes

About the project:

After a first edition with over 11,000 visits and a second with 25,000, the Sabay Festival makes its big return to the Grande Pagode de Vincennes on April 27 and 28! And for the very first time, the event will take place over two days.

To be able to carry out its 3rd edition, we need your support.

What is the Sabay Festival?

The Sabay Festival is an event organized by Sabay - Evaan Market & Services, and the Association Samaki Kohn Khmer.

Every year in April, we come together to celebrate the Cambodian New Year. It is also an opportunity for those curious about Asia to (re)discover Cambodian culture through a friendly and festive moment, where you will travel to the Land of Smiles...

A true moment of gathering, sharing and celebration, we invite you to join us under the spring sunshine to celebrate the new year! With friends or family, come immerse yourself in Cambodian culture.

On the program: street food, traditional dance performances, Kun Khmer boxing shows, artist concerts, DJ sets, a Buddhist ceremony, activities for children, a Sak Yant sacred tattoo stand, and the photo exhibition “Le royaume de mon père” by photographer Raphaël Pech.

The France TV presenter Raphäl YEM will host the Sabay Festival stage throughout the weekend for the great delight of festival-goers.

On Saturday April 27 and Sunday April 28, the Grande Pagode de Vincennes will take on the air of Phnom Penh...

You will also be able to meet and support associations if you wish!

What will the funding be used for?

The success of the Sabay Festival involves a larger budget than last year.

To cope with the increased number of visitors, we have decided to extend the event to 2 days. Thus, we therefore have to double our staff and our logistical expenses.

This year, we primarily want to reinvest in quality equipment because what we currently have is starting to show its age:

- Rental of a new stage (6000€)

- Display grids for the photo exhibition (800€)

Your donations will also help us finance the venue, the first aid post (800€), as well as the programming: the many artists taking part in the festival, as well as the artistic associations present.

This is a free event open to everyone to celebrate the most important festival in Cambodia. Above all, it is an event with a very strong symbolism regarding the transmission of Khmer culture.

But many people do not know that behind this magnificent free festival lies a substantial investment, with a small team fighting with its own means…
