Gaza emergency, 12% of children die because of contaminated water
97% of the water in Gaza is unfit for human consumption due to pollution and a high presence of salt, chlorine and nitrate in the aquifers. Consequence: a quarter of illnesses in Gaza are water-related.
The people of Gaza are asking for help to meet a vital human need: access to safe water.
To respond to this water crisis in Gaza, https://www.dignite-international.org/gaza-eau has installed 8 desalination units. Placed in schools, they help preserve the lives of children in this poor and embargoed territory.
