Residents of Saint-Étienne and its Métropole!
The waste collection workers of Saint-Étienne Métropole have been on strike since Monday, April 7, 2025.
Faced with significant unsanitary conditions and the deterioration of their working conditions, the SEM waste collection workers have decided to launch a major movement aimed at having the changes in their daily work recognized and valued.
The causes include changes in collection frequency and access arrangements at recycling centers that have severely degraded residents' quality of life and the conditions under which they carry out their public service mission...
The health and safety of the workers are now constantly threatened. The lack of bins made available, the presentation of bags near collection points, and the presence of hazardous and inappropriate waste intended for recycling centers have become commonplace!
