Today, our mosque - Dzemat Fribourg, located in Givisiez in Switzerland, is facing a critical financial situation.
Our account only has 2’202 CHF left, while our monthly expenses amount to about 3’000 CHF, including 2’700 CHF rent and 300 CHF utilities. At the same time, the membership contributions currently coming in represent only about 1’000 CHF per month, meaning a shortfall of 2’000 CHF each month.
Our reserve is steadily running out as shown by the chart in the photo. If this situation continues, our resources will be exhausted as soon as next month!
We have nevertheless tried to find a sustainable solution. In particular, we tried to gather 30 people willing to contribute 100 CHF per month, which would have allowed us to reach the 3’000 CHF needed each month to cover our expenses. Unfortunately, we were unable to gather enough people to put this solution in place.
We are currently committed to an annual lease that runs until February 2027. Rent and utilities therefore still need to be paid. If we are no longer able to meet our obligations, we risk facing legal action and, ultimately, the closure of the mosque.
🤲 This fundraiser therefore represents our last resort.
Our goal is to raise 40’000 CHF, in order to cover a few months of expenses and give our mosque the time needed to put a sustainable financial solution in place.
