Our jobs as social workers in specialized prevention are under threat!
The department is preparing to vote on a historic 25% budget cut! This will effectively lead to layoffs. We are already too few in number, our workloads are considerable, our salaries too low, and the resources allocated to us are ridiculous.
This attack on our profession is unprecedented; we face the risk of disappearing, and with us, all the essential support we provide to residents of disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
As a result, we will start a strike to build a mobilisation aimed at preventing the upcoming layoffs. To fund this strike we have decided to ask for help by opening a strike fund.
