I was alerted to Pheonix after someone sent me a video of an injured dog laying in a pile of rubbish. I hired a car and went to search for him. Nothing could prepare me for what i found. The picture in the bio was what I saw...a young dog, laying in the sun, starving to death, no food, no water, no shade! I could see he was already shutting down. Naturally he didn't want to be touched, he had a significant wound to his front leg. We managed to secure a blanket around him, scoop him up and get him into the car. He was taken to my local vet where immediately it was discovered the leg couldn't be saved. The infection was severe and he was only a few days from certain death. The leg had become so infected due to no one helping him sooner. He lay discarded like rubbish. On the 13th July, his leg was amputated and he is currently in the hospital on intravenous. He barely survived the op. His suffering doesn't end there sadly. He has no muscles left in his body, they have literally wasted away. We don't know if this is purely down to malnutrition, or if there is an underlying issue. We must investigate via blood tests to see what is going on. I am already in debt for the €200 for the amputation, and this is a discounted price because I help so many animals. I cant continue without aid...please help me save Pheonix. He deserves a second chance, he is barely 5-6 months old. He will never be returned to the streets. He will live at my sanctuary with the others, where I will help him with his recovery. Anyone that knows me knows how far I will go for animals. I have previous experience with amputee dogs after a similar situation a year ago. Please help if you can, regular updates of Pheonix will be given. Help give him the chance of a wonderful life, whether that's with me, or if we find a suitable adopter. Pheonix is already loved dearly and I will do all I can to ensure he has the best life possible. Thank you for your help🐾❤️ i dont know what the final costs will be for Pheonix yet, so I am averaging it on hospital fees, blood tests, and also he will be fed a specialist food. Once I know I will adjust accordingly. I am very transparent as people who know me will tell you...I am not in this for gain, purely to help another furry soul who doesn't have anyone else🙏🏻
