Since September 26, 2020, the Grandpuits refiners have been engaged in the fight against the permanent shutdown of the refining capacity of the Grandpuits Refinery, and also against a reconversion project that is far from acceptable and sufficient. It is against the 700 job cuts (200 direct and 500 indirect) that the refiners are fighting.
Beyond the job cuts, Total justifies stopping refining by claiming the refinery is too old and too worn out. This is a fact that falls solely under Total's general management, which favors shareholder dividends to the detriment of the facility. At the same time, they are relocating refining capacity abroad where social and environmental standards are less stringent!
We need everyone's participation so that our strike at the Grandpuits refinery continues, until all jobs in our area are maintained! Until there is a genuine reconversion project that creates jobs rather than destroys them!
Employees, retirees, unemployed — we call on your generosity so that this class struggle can continue!
The refiners have always supported and fought through struggle against the various government attacks on our hard-won social gains. They were present in 2010 against the pension reform; in 2016 against the El Khomri Law; and in 2020 against Macron's pension reform. Today, the refiners appeal to solidarity so they can wage the fight of their lives!
Donations will be distributed to all strikers at the refinery, without distinction of union affiliation.

A la veille des fêtes, Total s'apprête à mettre fin aux activités de raffinage sur le site emblématique de Grandpuits, avec à la clé la suppression de 700 emplois (200 salariés Total et 500 salariés d'entreprises sous-traitantes), tout en se dédouanant à grand renforts de communication pour tenter de se repeindre en vert. Mais les raffineurs ne sont pas dupes et s'engagent dans le combat pour la défense de l'emploi, dans un bassin seine-et-marnais déjà sinistré. Ils ont plus que jamais besoin de notre soutien !
