As-salamu alaykum everyone
We are reaching out today to ask for your generosity to help a family that is going through a particularly difficult time. This family is not in a situation where they refuse to pay their bills or are trying to evade their responsibilities. They have simply been overwhelmed by the accumulation of expenses and everyday obligations.
Over the months, several expenses had to be paid as a priority: housing, electricity, gas, food, the family's daily needs, transportation, as well as various unforeseen events that can unfortunately occur and upset an already tight budget.
Among these expenses, electricity and gas had to be considered priorities, notably because disconnections can occur quickly and have immediate consequences on the family's life. It was therefore necessary to avoid as much as possible being left without electricity or gas, while still ensuring payment for housing and essential daily expenses.
Water, however, was unfortunately postponed several times in the hope of being regularized later. Past bills could not be caught up as planned. It is not because the family did not want to pay, but because each month brought its share of expenses and it was necessary to constantly choose between several essential obligations. This has been going on for years for a family that refuses to reach out and ask for help.
The idea was to gradually settle the old installments when the financial situation would allow. Unfortunately, the family's difficult situation did not permit payments to resume sufficiently to reduce the arrears.
Today, this accumulation has reached a particularly large amount: 286 222,03 DA
To that add the 3140 dinars for the bill, the 6000 dinars for reactivating the meter and we would like to give them an envelope of 40,000 dinars to give them a little extra help; with CotizUp fees we have brought the fund to 1300€, the rest will be allocated to them if there is a surplus.
And the situation has now become urgent, since the water meter has been removed. The family therefore finds itself in a very difficult situation: they must now find this sum in order to regularize their situation and be able to undertake the necessary steps to regain normal access to water.
This amount may seem enormous for a single family, and that is precisely why we are calling on solidarity.
Every contribution counts. No single person is asked to bear the entire amount. And above all, supplication is the best weapon.
Solidarity does not necessarily mean giving a lot. Give according to your means, share the appeal, talk about it around you or simply help find other people able to contribute — all of this can make a difference.
