I have known Zeina since January, following an initial solidarity initiative in which several of you took part (collection during the trek to Everest Base Camp).
The Majed Abu Jabal family lives in Palestine; we had contacted them to inform them about the well that was drilled thanks to your donations, in the name of her younger brother Youssef who died in 2023 at the age of 12 at the start of the last war.
Zeina contacted me again this month, reluctantly, because the tuition fees for the two sisters have piled up and they cannot afford to pay them.
Zeina is studying nursing at the University College of Applied Sciences. This is her final year. Her financial file must be fully settled for her to graduate and receive her diploma.
Her little sister Eman is in her second year of pharmacy at the University of Palestine. Her invoice must be paid so she can re-enroll.
Zeina's balance is 5 863,96 JOD, Eman's is 779,13 JOD for a total of 6 643,09 JOD, roughly equivalent to 8 037,98 EUR which I rounded up to 8100€ to cover money transfer fees.
The semester starts in September. Both universities expect payment by the end of August. I plan to make the transfer on Wednesday 26/08 at the latest, to allow for fund transfer delays.
- The amounts above come from the official statements of the financial files of both universities, which I have in hand.
- I request a traceable payment to the university, and I will provide the payment receipts as well as the enrollment confirmations once the fees are paid.
- I am collecting nothing for myself: every euro received goes entirely toward the tuition fees. If the sum exceeds the required amount, the surplus will be passed on to them.
Sharing is already a donation.
