What is the IPA?

The Institut Privé Alif, the first private Muslim secondary educational institution in the South West of France, was created 17 years ago. Since then, its story has continued to be written, by the grace of Allah, and then through the support of the Muslim community and its many benefactors who have contributed to the development of this educational project.

Among the important dates in its history, there is of course its creation in 2004 under the name Groupe Scolaire Privé Alif. This was followed in 2009 by its registration as a private secondary school hors-contrat with the Académie de Toulouse. The middle school, then located in the Pradettes district in Toulouse (31100), had four classes from 6th to 9th grade and welcomed just around fifty students.





The IPA expands:

The project continued to evolve and so the decision was made in 2015 to open the high school to ensure the continuity of the students' education. In 2016, the Groupe Scolaire Privé Alif needed more space to continue its development and therefore moved to the current premises located in the Thibaut area in Toulouse (31100).

A few quick works made it possible to transform a former IT company into a school (middle/high) with an area of more than 700 m2. The premises are thus equipped with 6 classrooms, a science laboratory, a computer room, a CDI, a cafeteria, a gymnasium and an outdoor courtyard. The site can now accommodate up to 150 students.

In 2017, the Groupe Scolaire Privé Alif officially became the Institut Privé Alif (IPA).





Renovate to better serve:

After renting these premises for a few years, ambitions grew and the decision was made to acquire the site.

An unprecedented fundraising campaign was launched and with the support of the Muslim community across France, the IPA became the permanent owner of the premises it had been renting in June 2017.





Four years later, many works must be carried out. The IPA indeed wishes to renovate its premises in order to improve the living and learning environment for its students and therefore needs to repair what has been worn by time:

- Paint,

- Doors,

- False ceilings,

- Electrical installation according to new standards,

- Tiling and sanitary and cafeteria faience,

- Floor coverings,

- Reorganization of the garden and outdoor courtyard to optimize the space.





Since March, many volunteers have rolled up their sleeves and come to the IPA's aid, not hesitating to give their time selflessly. This allowed us to reach a milestone in the first phase of these renovation works which were estimated at 35,000 euros. But despite their support, there is still much to do, and we hope to take advantage of these summer school holidays to complete all of these works, in order to offer the students the best possible start to the school year.
