(See below for the English version)
Since the Coronavirus outbreak, many independent media platforms in the West Bank have lost their income sources as sponsors pulled their ads and the overall economy has collapsed. Unfortunately, Palestine News Network was among those platforms.
Allow us to introduce ourselves: PNN is an independent media organization made up entirely of independent journalists who cover news concerning the Palestinian Territories, at both the local and international levels, in English and Arabic.
PNN brings daily updates on the Coronavirus news, as well as stories of people who have been affected by the pandemic. We express the people’s needs, help people to get closer to their decision-makers, broadcast live shows with officials and publish reports in English in order to reach and satisfy our global readers.
Let us all contribute to keeping independent press alive in Palestine.
Recently, PNN has suffered greatly financially because of this crisis. We have lost many of our income sources and advertisers and we no longer have the means to cover daily news and pay our employees’ salaries. Obviously, this severely limits the amount of content we can produce and soon, we will be forced to reduce the number of employees.
For this reason, we have decided to ask for your help so as not to collapse completely.
In short, our funding plan would require € 12000, which would provide us with three months of financial support. This would include:
- salaries for eight permanent employees
- operating costs (water, electricity, office rent, internet and additional fees)
- daily costs for covering news about the pandemic.
Every little bit helps, so support us during this period of financial hardship. Independent news channels in the West Bank do not receive government funding or funding from different political parties, so we depend entirely on the generosity of donors and commercial advertising.
Let us all contribute to keeping independent press alive in Palestine.
If you are not able to donate yourself, please share this fundraiser as widely as possible as much as you can. THANK YOU!
