My friend Shama is a brave young woman who sacrificed herself to save her family and deserves our support. Shama sacrificed her future and came to France to help her disabled brother. They received treatment.
Fate had the catastrophe in Jabalia occur, leaving them stranded in France, without any source of income.
Fate did not stop there; it was even more cruel when she learned that her older sister Manal had gone to Egypt for treatment. She suffered from fibroids in her thigh, chest and back and needed surgery to remove the tumors. Unfortunately, the cost of the operation was simply unaffordable.
(Shama writes with a broken heart, filled with sadness and pain, that she and her family lost all their savings and belongings, as well as 194 members of their family in Jabalia.)
Fate remains cruel to Shama and her family, and she is forced to help her young sister Nabila, a widow, and her seven orphaned children, as everyone who helped them has died.
Shama says: Despite this endless nightmare, we are a resilient and strong family. Our wonderful parents gave everything so that we could be a thriving family and we are so proud of what we have accomplished. My family is educated and holds high-level university degrees, including university professor, engineer, lawyer, etc. We were a wealthy and happy family, but fate willed it otherwise, and our lives have become an unimaginable nightmare.
