Online support fund for JB, activist photographer from Declic Militant, victim of the juridico‑police machinery in Chambéry.
ERRATUM: Due to a "case of force majeure" that turned out to be the lawyer's inability to defend the activist at the trial originally scheduled for July 03, the hearing has nonetheless been postponed to... November 28, 2024. The lawyer found himself stuck in Chambéry because of the passage of the Tour de France and was therefore unable to get to the Courthouse at the agreed time. And so it goes.

To recap the facts, JB is charged with "rebellion" for refusing to hand over his camera to two BAC police officers while reporting on a non-violent action that took place in Chambéry on November 23, 2023. After 20 hours in custody and without having had access to a legal representative, the activist left the police station with a Comparution pour Reconnaissance Préalable de Culpabilité (CRPC) which brought him before the prosecutor on March 13, 2024 and then on July 03 with the penalties being sought against him as follows:
A. 3 months' imprisonment, suspended
B. Several thousand euros in legal fees, including lawyers and penalties, the exact amount of which can unfortunately no longer be communicated to you, for lack of LAW:

C. Several hundred euros in damages claimed by the police who arrested, insulted and threatened him, and who moreover have already received two days of Temporary Work Interruption (ITT), net of taxes if they were to receive them.
In order to defuse the repression and juridico‑police harassment weighing on our comrade for more than 6 months and to show a united front that does not avert its eyes before abusive and corrupt authority, you are invited to add the amount of your choice to this fund which will serve our local anti‑repression group to support him as a victim (organization of the evening, training on citizens' rights during police checks, pooling of lawyers' fees...), and possibly to be added to a more general fund for the next activists who might be threatened. A united people may bend but does not break!
