As salam aleykum wa rahmatulah wa baarakatuh, إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون.
It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our dear brother Amin, who passed away at only 18 years old.
Faced with this painful ordeal, we have the opportunity to offer him the most beautiful assistance for his life in the Hereafter: a Sadaqa Jariya (continuous charity).
Why is a continuous charity so necessary for a deceased person?
In Islam, death marks the end of a person’s deeds. The deceased can no longer act for themselves (pray, fast, give) to accumulate the good deeds needed to elevate their rank with Allah or to have their faults forgiven. However, Sadaqa Jariya is an exceptional mercy: it is a gift whose benefit endures over time. As long as the living benefit from this work (for example, by drinking water from a well), the reward continues to be granted to the deceased, even in the grave. It is an uninterrupted light that reaches them while they can no longer act.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said about this:
"When the son of Adam dies, his deeds come to an end except in three cases: an ongoing charity, knowledge from which people benefit, or a righteous child who prays for him."
Today, I invite you to undertake an action in which you are the main actor and which will have an eternal impact.
Through this fundraiser, we wish, with Allah’s permission, to build a well in the name of Amin. The impact of this charitable act will be twofold: it will provide vital water to those in need, and it will become a source of continuous reward for our brother. May every glass of water, every person quenched and every life that benefits from this water be a cause of reward for him.
O Allah, forgive Amin, have mercy on him, widen his grave and illuminate it. Make this water a light for him and grant him the Firdaws Al-A‘la.
O Allah, abundantly reward every person who contributes to this fundraiser, bless their wealth and family, and grant them good in this life and the Hereafter.
