Youssef, 5 years old, originally from and living in Djelfa, Algeria, is affected by a congenital bicytopenia (decrease of two blood cell lines: thrombocytopenia + leukopenia).
He urgently needs a bone marrow transplant without delay. The longer we wait, the greater the risk of failure.
His condition requires treatment abroad. The only option — a bone marrow transplant — must be performed urgently to improve his condition.
The bicytopenia is the reduction in the number of https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89rythrocyte associated with a decrease in the number of https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leucocyte or https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrombocyte.
Clinical manifestations:
- anemic syndrome with cutaneous-mucosal pallor and exertional dyspnea.**
- hemorrhagic syndrome of the skin or mucous membranes, and more rarely visceral.
- infectious syndrome.
Youssef is in pediatric emergency care and must be transferred as soon as possible.
Youssef is regularly transfused to keep him alive.
His life consists of constant back-and-forth trips to transfusion centers.
Youssef is exhausted and wants to live like any other little boy his age.
Despite his young age he is aware of his illness and asks his parents many questions....
This child requires a bone marrow transplant without delay.
Youssef is anemic and has been withdrawn from school. He is immunocompromised and is an easy target for opportunistic infections.
His family is distraught in the face of their child's pain as he fights every day for his survival.
Youssef suffers multiple hemorrhagic episodes as a consequence of his condition.

His family does not have the necessary funds to cover his care, which is why we are appealing to your solidarity. The association needs your support in the face of the multiple requests that arise every day and that we can no longer meet.
