Let me tell you a story…
It's a beautiful story that begins, a bit like all the lovely stories told in children's books:
A man and a woman meet, have two beautiful children and buy a 1900s house to renovate. A wonderful project. Better still, the dream of a lifetime! The work begins: the windows are replaced, the house is insulated, the children's bedroom is taken care of as a priority...
And then... and then, as life goes, the two people painfully separate. One leaves the home, the other keeps the family house. One rebuilds their life, the other does not.
And assuming alone the repayment of loans and the burden of the children when you only have a worker's wage is complicated. So when, on top of that, you have to start renovation work, it becomes a mission impossible. Money is lacking and the house gradually deteriorates. The electricity is no longer up to standard, mold invades the house at an alarming rate, as if it had taken up residence there. Today the house has become uninhabitable and harmful to its occupants.
For this house to become liveable and healthy again like in the good old days, work must be undertaken quickly.
This story is my brother's story.
My name is Delphine, I am 38 years old and with the help of his daughter, we decided to change its course, because it is unbearable for us to do nothing and we want him to get through this.
Because we want this story to end well!
Because we believe that asking for help is our only lever today.
Because together, we are stronger.
Because Valérie Damidot's show no longer exists.
And because this is our project (as they say), we would like to raise as much money as possible to address the most urgent needs, namely:
- Bring the electricity up to code
- Install a double-flow mechanical ventilation system (VMC double flux) to ventilate the house
- Remove the mold filth by cleaning and painting the walls
- Install a wood-burning stove for heating and energy savings
