This project aims to document by photography the active life in the streets of The Gambia. Through this project, I want to highlight the lifestyle of Gambians that takes place outdoors. The goal is to raise viewers' awareness of the way people become individualistic and live withdrawn, as in Europe, so that they remember that social interactions are important.
To do this, I will travel to The Gambia, to the streets of the town of Brikama. There, I will take photographs of men, women and children in their daily activities in a documentary style.
Men, women and children will appear in my images, without artifice, just them spending their days in these lively streets.
A humanist project that is close to my heart
I have already obtained funding of 1000 Canadian dollars (about €800) that will finance my plane ticket. I still need a bit more money (about €500 to €800) to cover my living expenses on site and my travel to and from the airports.
