As you know, since June 2021, our Comité de Quartier Bourdon – Horzel has opposed the large real estate project "Les Jardins du Kinsendael". A gigantic project in two phases (South and North), notably on the former Illochroma industrial site and governed, in part, by the PPAS n°66.
As the building permit for the first phase of Les Jardins du Kinsendael was granted by the delegated official and has been on display since this 20 juillet 2023, I inform you that an annulment appeal of the building permit was filed this 18 septembre 2023 with the Conseil d'Etat by Me Sambon.
This annulment request is essentially based on the absence of a comprehensive impact study that would result not only from the two phases of the project (north and south) but also from the many other projects already carried out and to be carried out in the immediate vicinity.
Unfortunately, the works authorized by this building permit began last week. Indeed, on this 14 septembre Ă 7:32, our magnificent liquidambar, symbol of our struggle, was felled, sawn up and reduced to a pile of wood chips. As were several other high-stem trees on the site.
Therefore, on this 20 septembre 2023, we filed a request for suspension with the Conseil d'Etat.
For practical reasons, the appeal was filed in the name of two of the neighborhood's residents. Some residents also advanced the money covering our lawyer's retainer, amounting to several thousand euros.
