Squats are great for creating bonds, alternative ways of being, a balance of power, and all kinds of quirky life experiences. But today people often live in them not by choice.
Beyond the collectives of people (Solidarité entre femmes à la rue, Tissot, Denuzière…), the Lyon squat network is a network of struggling people who cross paths and support each other: undocumented people, single mothers, disabled people, trans people, poly-addicted people, all at once… lots of situations that make people extremely vulnerable and precarious, and their mates!
In short this anarchist, anti-racist, anti-fascist network of struggle for the right to housing, to papers, to health, to work, to being left in peace and to a gentle life, it's you + me + us + everyone who wants it. We build cool things together.
However, to give a few examples of comrades' financial troubles this month:
> 2000 euros to settle an electricity bill
> A debt restructuring file at the Bank of France after an identity document scam
> 300€ of rent debt after a sudden loss of RSA
> 5000€ of veterinary bills for a dog
Faced with this, solidarity organizes! Today we appeal to people like us, to teachers' kids, to old Catholics and to all the people who like to hand over their cash to the poorest. Together we're stronger
According to our statistics, a single share raises an average of 30 euros.
