Hello, my name is Beatriz and I was born in Portugal.

My parents emigrated to France when I was barely 5 years old and today I still live in this beautiful country that welcomed us. Portugal remains the country of my roots.

... A few years ago, while I was on holiday in Portugal, I had to evacuate the house with my children; these images I will never forget. The firefighters present did everything they could, fought the flames and found the words to reassure us. The firefighters deserve all praise.

FIREFIGHTERS AROUND THE WORLD deserve our respect and should be honored. They are heroes.

Many are volunteers and I appreciate them all the more because, beyond their professional lives, they give their time to save lives.

They are soldiers in the fight against fires.

They are anonymous heroes, always defending and often forgotten.

They are firefighters who save lives at the risk of their own.

They are a true example of love for others, exceptional, heroes, worthy of praise.

They have: courage, respect for their work.

Supporting them is recognizing and valuing service to humanity.

All this led me over the past years to want to support firefighters. How exactly I did not yet know.

With my passion for walking, I decided to combine usefulness with pleasure. And the idea of walking to help them, by opening a fundraiser to collect donations, arose.

I am originally from Ançã and that is why I chose to support the Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários de Cantanhede because it is the one from my municipality.

In this sense, with my partner Eric we will cross Portugal from South to North, 1100 km, and our intention is to collect solidarity funds.

They are a true example of love for one’s neighbor, exceptional, heroes, worthy of praise and a symbol of courage and respect for work.

All this has led me over the last years to want to support firefighters. But I still didn’t know how.

With my passion for walking, I decided to join the useful to the pleasant. And from there came the idea of walking to help them, opening a “crowdfunding” to raise donations.

Being originally from Ançã, I chose to support the Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários de Cantanhede because it is the one from my municipality.

In this regard my partner Eric and I will cross Portugal on foot from South to North, covering a route of 1100 km, and our intention is to raise solidarity funds.
