We are teachers at Villette Fonscolombe nursery school, located in Marseille’s 3rd arrondissement and classified as REP+ (réseau d’éducation prioritaire renforcé), and we are appealing to your generosity.
Since the start of the coronavirus crisis, many families from the school have been in great difficulty and are struggling to feed their children.
Indeed, during this period of lockdown, some families receive no social assistance and no longer have any income. They can no longer go shopping or pay their rent.
The lockdown makes them all the more vulnerable because they have little or no social contact during this crisis that forces them to stay at home. That is why we, the teachers of the school, who are in regular contact with the families, want to make our contribution by launching this fundraiser and taking part in it.
We have already contacted charitable associations to deliver meal parcels.
These associations are now overwhelmed with requests and can no longer guarantee regular deliveries of food supplies to these families. Some associations had to limit support to a single delivery for the entire lockdown period.
As the lockdown continues, the situation for some will become dramatic.
That is why we are launching this appeal for solidarity.
Your donations, small or large, will make a difference and will allow children to have a meal.
In these times of crisis, let us show mutual support and think of the most vulnerable among us. This fundraiser will enable them to live with dignity and to be sheltered during this difficult period.
