For his 90th year, Roger would like to return to Monza for the Grand Prix!
An accomplished driver, Roger Rey shared starting grids with great names in motorsport such as Clay Regazzoni and Alain Prost. Hill climbs, slaloms, circuits... Roger distinguished himself in many competitions, even taking part in legendary races like those at Hockenheim and Monza. After more than 1'000 starts in Formula 2, the last of which was when he was 85 years old, Roger is still just as passionate about motor racing. He is capable of getting up at 6 a.m. to watch a race on TV because it is taking place on the other side of the world.
Life gave him the chance to race with his son Alain, who died at 27 in a road accident. He had to relearn how to take the starts on his own, and he did so while continuing to help young drivers prepare their cars by giving them precious advice.
Today, on the occasion of his birthday, when he celebrated his 90 years, several of his friends have decided to come together around a common project: to give him the opportunity to attend the Monza Grand Prix in early September 2024 with access to the Paddocks. This fundraiser, initiated by his friends, therefore aims to make this dream trip a reality!
