Aida Camp
FOOD EMERGENCY WEST BANK
FOR A 3rd YEAR we will contribute to the Ramadan for the people of Aida Camp!
Bismillah
In this exceptional context of a health crisis, we are in urgent need of bringing our food support to Aida Camp.
Situated in Bethlehem in the West Bank, this camp is going through a dark period.
The Covid-19 situation has caused a rare food crisis in this camp, which is usually accustomed to outpourings of solidarity from volunteers and residents.
At Aida Camp, refugees are suffering an unprecedented crisis since the start of the pandemic: the loss of employment of the few people who work, the halt of import-export leading to price increases, restrictions on movement, curfews and fines that exhaust the few resources existing in the camp.
It is also the MOST AFFECTED camp by COVID-19.
Let's help the people preserve their dignity during this difficult time.
The fundraiser in a few figures:
€25,000 is:
- 440 meals per day
- 12 days of support for 400 people
This is obviously not enough because in reality no fewer than 600 families must be helped.
We had to make this difficult decision in order to reach this goal as quickly as possible to transfer the funds rapidly given the urgency. We hope, however, that other international partners will come to supplement the request.
This is not the original project we were supposed to set up, but in view of this emergency situation we decided to concentrate our efforts to fight this crisis.
The good news is that after a fierce struggle with the authorities and financial institutions, we have finally found an effective solution to transfer the funds to the camp.
The goal is to contribute as much as possible to this fundraiser.
Spreading the word is also a contribution; sharing it and talking about it is contributing.
