During the fires on 11/08/2021, while evacuating a family, Ranou sustained multiple injuries and an ocular injury that caused progressive loss of vision in his right eye, followed by complications affecting his sinuses, cervical spine, and right lung. Initially, he contacted a clinic in Spain where the diagnosis was revised, but that clinic only treats circulatory pathologies. The MEMORIAL clinic in Turkey assures him it has the means to treat his sphenoid bone, which remains inflamed. The total amount needed is approximately €10,000 (intervention, tests, hospitalization, stay, round-trip tickets).
