Dear faithful,

The Association of the Mosque of Chassieu launches a heartfelt call for your mobilization and generosity for the construction of a worship center: a Mosque in Chassieu.

Our association, rooted in the Chassieu community for over 35 years, brings together all the faithful of Chassieu, Genas and workers from the industrial zone, as it is the only mosque nearby.

We are today faced with a critical problem: our current space no longer meets the growing needs of our community. The prayer room, a prefabricated unit on a 70 m2 surface rented from the town hall, quickly becomes overcrowded. Worshippers squeeze together to prostrate, and some are even forced to pray next to the toilets and shoes.

Unfortunately, restrictions prevent us from praying outdoors. Furthermore, the mosque lacks facilities to welcome women and severely limits access to Arabic and Qur’an classes.

To address this issue, we have developed an ambitious project. We plan to acquire a plot of more than 1000 m2 and build a simple two-storey building of nearly 600 m2, including spacious prayer halls, equipped classrooms, etc. The estimated budget is €1,500,000, spread over several years to cover the different construction phases:

• 500 000 € : land acquisition, end of 2024

• 500 000 € : structural work, end of 2025

• 500 000 € : finishing works, end of 2026.

With your support, we will be able to realize this vital project for our community. Building a new mosque will provide an adapted and secure space for our prayers, welcome women to our center and offer more courses and educational activities for our children.
