🌙 Ramadan 2026 – Rebuilding what the war has shattered

In Gaza, the war has not only destroyed buildings. It has shattered bodies, disrupted childhoods and left thousands of children permanently injured. Many have lost their homes, their schools, their way of life. Others have lost far more: an arm, a leg, sometimes both.

Some also suffer severe burns, or complex injuries that require long-term, specialized and costly medical care. In Gaza, children are paying an immense price in this war: UNICEF indicates that more than 64 000 children have been killed or injured, while the crisis has also left tens of thousands of children without stable routines, without sufficient care and often without appropriate protection.

For these children, survival is not the end of the ordeal. Many now live deprived of mobility, autonomy and part of their future. Some can no longer walk alone. Others no longer leave their bed.

🚨According to OCHA, the number of amputees needing prosthetic services in Gaza has risen to around 6 000, including 4 000 new cases, while hundreds of patients are still awaiting stump revision surgeries, among them children.

The tragedy does not end with the amputation itself. Behind every lost limb there is a long path to recovery: surgery, care, rehabilitation, prosthetic fitting, psychological follow-up, family support. The World Health Organization reminds that care for amputees, especially children, requires a multidisciplinary approach including prosthetics, rehabilitation, psychosocial support and long-term follow-up.

It is to respond to this emergency that Muslims en Action is deploying in Gaza a Medical Reconstruction Program dedicated to children injured by the war.

🎯 The objective is concrete: to enable them to recover as much as possible what the conflict has taken from them, by funding custom-made limb prostheses, reconstructive surgeries, as well as all the rehabilitation and medical follow-up necessary after the intervention.

✅ A complete reconstruction, including the prosthesis, rehabilitation and follow-up, represents on average 7 000 €. Each case is carried out with medical partners on the ground, with real and documented follow-up.

This action is not new. Last year already, thanks to your generosity, amputee children were able to be supported in their reconstruction. Children were fitted, followed and helped in their rehabilitation. Ramadan 2026 thus continues a mission already underway, with the same ambition: not to leave these children alone faced with injuries that will disrupt their whole lives if no one intervenes.

Acting during Ramadan is also choosing to place your donation in a month when every act of mercy takes on particular significance.

Behind every contribution, there may be a child who stands up again, regains some autonomy, relearns to walk, to play or simply to live with more dignity. This is not only about financing a medical act. It is about helping a child to resume a life that the war has suspended.
